Heritage Ranch Celebrates Senior Health

Golf is not just a game, it’s an easy and fun way to improve your health.

In recognition of the 14th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day, Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club will be hosting a one hour free clinic at 1pm and offering the twilight rate to its seniors all day on Wednesday, May 30, 2007.

“Being a Country Club located within an active-adult community, a majority of our golfers fit into this age group. This day is a great way to showcase the many benefits golf can bring to maintaining a healthy lifestyle,” says Tony Trevino, Director of Golf at Heritage Ranch Golf & Country Club.

The five leading health risks for seniors include arthritis, cardiovascular disease, obesity, hypertension and cancer. While these conditions can heavily relay on genetics, one common preventative action is regular cardiovascular exercise. Playing golf provides the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while strengthening and increasing mobility by walking and swinging the golf club.
